| 90 예수님은 실제로 기적을 행하셨나요? 아니면 그저 신앙심을 강조하기 위해 꾸며 낸 이야기에 불과한가요?
예수님은 실제로 기적을 행하셨고, 사도들도 기적을 행했습니다. 신약 성경의 저자들은 실제 사건들을 전합니다. 547-550 가장 오래된 원전들도 예수님의 기적들을 수없이 많이 전하고, 예수님의 선포 내용이 참되다는 것을 입증하는 표징으로서 심지어 죽은 이들을 살리신 기적까지 전합니다. “그러나 내가 하느님의 영으로 마귀들을 쫓아내는 것이면, 하느님의 나라가 이미 너희에게 와 있는 것이다.”(마태 12,28) 기적들은 공개된 장소에서 일어났고, 눈이 멀었던 바르티매오(마르 10,46-52 참조)나 병든 베드로의 장모(마태 8,14-15 참조)처럼 그 일에 관련된 몇몇 사람들의 이름이 거론되기도 했습니다. 그 외에도 유다인들에게는 충격적인 모독 행위로 느껴질 수 있는 기적들도 있습니다. 안식일에 절름발이를 고쳐 주신 기적이나 나병 환자들을 고쳐 주신 기적을 그 예로 들 수 있습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 당시 유다교에서는 그 기적들을 문제 삼지 않았습니다. 90 Did Jesus work miracles, or are they just pious tales? Jesus really worked miracles, and so did the →APOSTLES. The New Testament authors refer to real incidents. 547-550 Even the oldest sources tell of numerous miracles, even the raising of the dead, as a confirmation of Jesus’ preaching: “But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you” (Mt 12:28). The miracles took place in public some of the persons involved were known by name, for instance, blind Bartimaeus (Mk 10:46-52) or Peter’s mother-in-law (Mt 8:14-15). There were also miracles that in those Jewish circles were considered shocking and outrageous (for example, the cure of a crippled man on the →SABBATH, the cure of lepers). Nevertheless they were not disputed by contemporary Judaism. 91 예수님이 기적을 행하신 이유는 무엇인가요? 예수님이 행하신 기적들은 하느님 나라가 시작되고 있음을 알리는 표징이었습니다. 그 기적들은 인간에 대한 예수님의 사랑을 드러내는 것이었을 뿐만 아니라, 그분의 파견을 뒷받침하는 것이었습니다. 547-550 예수님은 마술적인 능력을 과시하려고 기적을 행하셨던 것이 아닙니다. 그분에게는 하느님의 사랑이 지닌 치유력이 충만하셨습니다. 기적을 통해 예수님은 당신이 메시아시며 당신에게서 하느님 나라가 시작되고 있음을 알려 주셨습니다. 이렇게 해서 새로운 세상의 시작을 보는 것이 가능해졌습니다. 예수님은 배고픔(요한 6,5-15 참조), 불의(루카 19,8), 질병과 죽음(마태 11,5 참조)으로부터 인간을 해방하셨습니다. 그분은 마귀들을 쫓아내심으로써 사탄을 뜻하는 “이 세상의 우두머리”(요한 12,31)에 대한 승리의 진군을 시작하셨습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 예수님은 이 세상에서 모든 고통과 악을 제거하지는 않으셨습니다. 그분은 죄의 종살이에서 인간을 해방하는 것에 주안점을 두셨습니다. 그분에게는 기적을 통해 불러일으켰던 신앙이 가장 중요한 관심사였습니다. 91 But why did Jesus work miracles? The miracles that Jesus worked were signs that the kingdom of God was beginning. They expressed his love for mankind and reaffirmed his mission. 547-550 Jesus’ miracles were not self-aggrandizing displays of magic. He was filled with the power of God’s healing love. Through his miracles he showed that he is the Messiah and that the kingdom of God begins in him. Thus it became possible to experience the dawn of the new world: he freed people from hunger (Jn 6:5-15), injustice (Lk 19:8), sickness, and death (Mt 11:5). By driving out demons, he began his victorious advance against the “ruler of this world” (meaning Satan see Jn 12:31). Nevertheless, Jesus did not remove all misfortune and evil from the world. He directed his attention principally to freeing man from the slavery of sin. His central concern was faith, which he also elicited through miracles. |
