| 92 예수님이 사도들을 부르신 이유는 무엇인가요?
예수님은 당신 주위에 남녀들로 구성된 대규모 제자들을 두셨습니다. 그분은 이들 가운데에서 열두 명의 남자들을 뽑으시고, 그들을 사도라고 부르셨습니다(루카 6,12-16 참조). 또한 사도들을 특별히 교육하시고 그들에게 여러 가지 임무를 맡기셨습니다. 예수님은 “하느님의 나라를 선포하고 병자들을 고쳐주라.”(루카 9,2) 하시며 그들을 파견하셨습니다. 예수님은 오로지 이들 열두 사도들과 함께 최후의 만찬을 나누셨으며, 그 자리에서 그들에게 “너희는 나를 기억하여 이를 행하여라.”(루카 22,19)라고 새로운 임무를 주셨습니다. 551-553, 567 사도들은 예수님 부활의 증인이자 그분의 진리를 보증하는 사람들이 되었습니다. 그들은 예수님이 돌아가신 이후 그분의 사명을 계승했습니다. 사도들은 자신들의 직무를 이어 갈 후계자들을 뽑았는데 이들이 곧 주교들입니다. 사도들의 후계자인 주교들은 예수님에게 받은 권한을 오늘날에도 여전히 행사하고 있습니다. 다시 말해 주교들은 교회를 이끌고 신자들을 가르치며 전례를 거행합니다. 사도들의 응집력은 교회 통합(사도 전승)의 토대가 되었습니다. 열두 사도 가운데 으뜸은 베드로인데, 예수님이 그에게 특별한 권위를 부여하셨기 때문입니다. “너는 베드로이다. 내가 이 반석 위에 내 교회를 세울 것이다.”(마태 16,18) 사도들 가운데 베드로가 지녔던 특별한 지위에서 교황직이 유래했습니다. 92 Why did Jesus call apostles? Jesus had a large circle of disciples around him, both men and women. From this circle he selected twelve men whom he called →APOSTLES (Lk 6:12-16). The apostles were specially trained by him and entrusted with various commissions: “He sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal” (Lk 9:2). Jesus took only these twelve apostles with him to the Last Supper, where he gave them the command, “Do this in remembrance of me” (Lk 22:19b). 551-553, 567 The apostles became witnesses of Jesus’ Resurrection and guarantors of the truth about him. They continued Jesus’ mission after his death. They chose successors for their ministry: the bishops. To this day, the successors of the apostles exercise the authority conferred by Jesus: They govern and teach and celebrate the liturgy. The cohesiveness of the apostles became the foundation for the unity of the →CHURCH (→APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION). Preeminent once again among the Twelve was Peter, on whom Jesus bestowed special authority: “You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church” (Mt 16:18). The Father wanted to reveal the divine glory of his Son even during Jesus’ earthly life. Christ’s Transfiguration was meant to help the disciples later to understand his death and Resurrection. 554-556, 568 Three Gospels relate how Jesus, on the mountaintop, begins to shine (is “transfigured”) before the eyes of his disciples. The voice of his heavenly Father calls Jesus his “beloved Son”, to whom they are supposed to listen. Peter would like to “make three booths” and capture the moment. Jesus, however, is on the way that leads to suffering. The vision of glory is only to strengthen his disciples. |
