| 98 하느님은 당신 외아드님의 죽음을 의도하셨나요?
예수님이 비극적인 외부 상황들 때문에 끔찍한 죽음을 맞으신 것이 아니었습니다. 그분은 “하느님께서 미리 정하신 계획과 예지에 따라”(사도 2,23) 사람들 손에 넘겨지셨습니다. 죄와 죽음의 자녀였던 우리가 생명을 얻도록 하기 위해 하늘에 계신 아버지는 “죄를 모르시는 그리스도를 우리를 위하여 죄로”(2코린 5,21) 만드셨습니다. 아버지이신 하느님이 당신 아드님에게 요구하셨던 제물의 크기는 그리스도의 헌신의 크기와 일치합니다. “아버지, 이때를 벗어나게 해 주십시오.하고 말할까요? 그러나 저는 바로 이 때를 위하여 온 것입니다.”(요한 12,27) 아버지나 아들이 지녔던 마음은 모두 십자가라는 최악의 상황에서 입증된 사랑이었습니다. 599-609, 620 우리를 죽음에서 구하기 위해 하느님은 위험한 사명을 수행하셨습니다. 다시 말해 하느님은 당신의 아드님 예수 그리스도라는 “불멸의 묘약”(안티오키아의 이냐시오 성인)을 우리가 있는 죽음의 세계 속으로 넣어 주셨습니다. 이 사명에 있어 성부와 성자는 떼어 놓을 수 없는 동맹자들이었고, 인간을 사랑하는 마음 때문에 최악을 감수할 각오와 갈망으로 가득 차 있었습니다. 우리를 영원히 구원하기 위해 하느님은 교환을 원하셨습니다. 하느님은 당신의 영원한 생명을 우리에게 주시길 원하셨고, 그로써 우리가 당신의 기쁨을 누리길 원하셨고, 그로써 우리가 당신의 기쁨을 누리길 바라셨습니다. 곧 하느님은 모든 면에서 우리 인간과 하나가 되고 이 세상 끝까지, 아니 그것을 넘어서까지 우리를 사랑하시기 위해, 우리의 죽을 운명과 절망, 고독, 죽음을 함께 겪고자 하셨습니다. 그리스도의 죽음은 하느님의 뜻이었지만, 그것이 그분이 바라셨던 끝은 아니었습니다. 그리스도가 우리를 위해 돌아가셨기 때문에 우리는 우리 죽음을 그분의 생명과 맞바꿀 수 있게 되었습니다. 98 Did God will the death of his only Son? The violent death of Jesus did not come about through tragic external circumstances. Jesus was “delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God” (Acts 2:23). So that we children of sin and death might have life, the Father in heaven “made him to be sin who knew no sin” (2 Cor 5:21). The magnitude of the sacrifice that God the Father asked of his Son, corresponded to the magnitude of Christ’s obedience: “And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, for this purpose I have come to this hour” (Jn 12:27). On both sides, God’s love for men proved itself to the very end on the Cross. 599-609, 620 In order to save us from death, God embarked on a dangerous mission: He introduced a “medicine of immortality” (St. Ignatius of Antioch) into our world of death?his Son Jesus Christ. The Father and the Son were inseparable in this mission, willing and yearning to take the utmost upon themselves out of love for man. God willed to make an exchange so as to save us forever. He wanted to give us his eternal life, so that we might experience his joy, and wanted to suffer our death, our despair, our abandonment, our death, so as to share with us in everything. So as to love us to the end and beyond. Christ’s death is the will of the Father but not his final word. Since Christ died for us, we can exchange our death for his life. 99 최후의 만찬에서는 어떤 일이 벌어졌나요? 예수님은 돌아가시기 전날 저녁에 당신 제자들의 발을 씻어 주셨고, 성체성사와 새 계약의 사제직을 세우셨습니다. 610-611 예수님은 모든 일이 성취될 때까지 당신 사랑을 다음의 세 가지 방식으로 보여 주셨습니다. 그분은 제자들의 발을 씻어 주심으로써 섬기는 사람(루카 27,27 참조)으로서 당신이 우리 가운데에 계심을 알려 주셨습니다. 그분은 제물로 쓰인 빵과 포도주를 두고 다음과 같이 말씀하심으로써 당신이 겪으실 수난의 구원적 성격을 암시하셨습니다. “이는 너희를 위하여 내어 주는 내 몸이다. 너희는 나를 기억하여 이를 행하여라.” 또 만찬을 드신 뒤에 같은 방식으로 잔을 들어 말씀하셨다. ‘이 잔은 너희를 위하여 흘리는 내 피로 맺는 새 계약이다.’(루카 22,19-20) 이와 같이 그분은 거룩한 성체성사를 세우셨습니다. 예수님은 사도들에게 “너희는 나를 기억하여 이를 행하여라.”(1코린 11,24)라고 당부하심으로써, 그들을 새 계약의 사제들로 삼으셨습니다. 99 What happened at the Last Supper? Jesus washed the feet of his apostles on the evening before his death he instituted the →EUCHARIST and founded the priesthood of the New Covenant. 610-611 Jesus showed his consummate love in three ways: He washed his disciples’ feet and showed that he is among us as one who serves (cf. Lk 22:27). He symbolically anticipated his redeeming Passion by speaking these words over the gifts of bread and wine: “This is my body which is given for you” (Lk 22:19ff). In this way he instituted the Holy →EUCHARIST. When Jesus commanded the →APOSTLES, “Do this in remembrance of me” (1 Cor 11:24b), he made them priests of the New Covenant. |
