| 451 ‘영적 자선 행위’에는 어떤 것이 있나요?
‘영적 자선 행위’에는 무지한 이들을 가르치고, 의심하는 이들에게 조언하며, 슬퍼하는 이들을 위로하고, 죄지은 이들을 훈계하며, 모욕하는 이들을 용서하고, 부당함을 참아 내며, 산 이와 죽은 이를 위해 기도하는 일이 있습니다. 451 What are the “spiritual works of mercy”? The spiritual works of mercy are: to instruct the ignorant, to counsel the doubtful, comfort the sorrowful, admonish the sinner, bear wrongs patiently, forgive all injuries, and pray for the living and the dead. 제8계명 거짓 증언을 하지 마라 452 여덟째 계명은 무엇을 말하나요? 여덟째 계명은 우리에게 거짓말을 하지 말라고 가르칩니다. 거짓말은 뚜렷한 의식 상태에서 의도적으로 진실에 반하는 내용을 말하거나 행동하는 것을 뜻합니다. 거짓말을 하는 사람은 자기 자신을 속일 뿐만 아니라, 어떤 사안에 대해 완전한 진실을 알 권리가 있는 사람도 속이는 것입니다. 2464, 2467-2468, 2483, 2485-2486 모든 거짓말은 정의와 사랑을 거스릅니다. 거짓말은 폭력의 한 형태이고, 공동체 안에 분열의 씨앗을 심으며, 모든 인간 공동체가 기반을 두는 신뢰를 파괴합니다. THE EIGHTH COMMANDMENT: You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 452 What does the Eighth Commandment require of us? The Eighth Commandment teaches us not to lie. Lying means consciously and intentionally speaking or acting against the truth. Someone who lies deceives himself and misleads others who have a right to know the full truth of a matter. 2464, 2467-2468, 2483, 2485-2486 Every lie is an offense against justice and charity. Lying is a form of violence it introduces the seed of division into a community and undermines the trust on which every human community is based. 453 우리가 진리를 대하는 태도는 하느님과 어떤 관계가 있나요? 우리가 진리를 존중하며 산다는 것은 자기 자신에게 신의를 지키는 것만을 뜻하지는 않습니다. 정확히 말하면 그것은, 진실하다는 것과 하느님에 대해서 신의를 지킨다는 것을 의미합니다. 하느님은 모든 진리의 근원이시기 때문입니다. 우리는 하느님에 관한 진리와, “길이요 진리요 생명”(요한 14,6)이신 예수님 안에서 실재하는 모든 것에 관한 진리를 깨닫게 됩니다. 2465-2470, 2505 우리가 예수님을 진정으로 따를 때 우리의 삶은 점점 더 진실해집니다. 그럴 때 우리는 삶에서 거짓말, 가식, 애매함을 몰아내고, 진리의 측면에서 투명해집니다. 믿는다는 것은 진리의 증인이 된다는 것을 의미합니다. 453 What does our relationship to the truth have to do with God? Living in respect for the truth means not only being true to oneself. More precisely it means being truthful, being true to God, for he is the source of all truth. We find the truth about God and about all of reality quite directly in Jesus, who is “the way, and the truth, and the life” (Jn 14:6). 2465-2470, 2505 Someone who really follows Jesus brings greater and greater truthfulness into his life. He eliminates all lies, falsehood, pretense, and ambiguity from his accomplishments in life and becomes transparent toward the truth. To believe means to become a witness to the truth. 454 신앙의 진리를 위해 우리는 얼마나 큰 의무를 가지나요? 그리스도인이면 누구나 진리를 증언해야 하고, 그럼으로써 그리스도를 따라야 합니다. 그분은 빌라도 앞에서 “나는 진리를 증언하려고 태어났으며, 진리를 증언하려고 세상에 왔다.”(요한 18,37)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 2472-2474 심지어 이는 그리스도인이 진리에 대한 신의와 하느님과 인간에 대한 사랑으로 자기 삶을 바치는 것을 의미합니다. 진리를 위한 헌신의 가장 두드러진 형태가 순교입니다. 454 How strongly obligatory is the truth of the faith? Every Christian must give testimony to the truth and thereby follow after Christ, who before Pilate said, “For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth” (Jn 18:37). 2472-2474 This can even mean that a Christian lays down his life out of fidelity to the truth and love for God and mankind. This ultimate form of commitment to the truth is called martyrdom. |
