| 463 ‘마음의 정화’는 어떻게 얻을 수 있나요?
사랑에 요구되는 ‘마음의 정화’는 무엇보다 기도를 통해 하느님과 하나가 될 때 얻을 수 있습니다. 하느님의 은총이 우리를 매만질 때 순수하고 완전하게 인간을 사랑할 수 있는 길이 열립니다. 순결한 사람은 솔직하고 온전한 마음으로 사랑할 수 있습니다. 2520, 2532 우리가 순수한 마음으로 하느님을 찾을 때 그분은 우리의 마음을 변화시키십니다. 하느님은 우리가 당신의 뜻을 따르고 불순한 생각과 상상, 열망을 거부할 수 있는 힘을 우리에게 주십니다. 463 How does one achieve “purity of heart”? The purity of heart required for love is achieved in the first place through with God in prayer. When God’s grace touches us, this also produces a path to pure, undivided human love. A chaste person can love with a sincere and undivided heart. 2520, 2532 When we turn to God with a sincere intention, he transforms our hearts. He gives us the strength to correspond to his will and to reject impure thoughts, fantasies, and desires. 464 수치심이 유익한 이유는 무엇인가요? 수치심은 인간의 가장 내밀한 부분, 곧 자신의 비밀과, 자신의 가장 내면의 모습, 자신의 존엄성, 무엇보다 사랑할 줄 아는 능력과 성적 행동을 가능하게 하는 능력을 보호합니다. 수치심은 오로지 사랑하는 사람만이 볼 수 있도록 허용된 것과 관련되어 있습니다. 2521-2525, 2533 요즘 그리스도교를 믿는 많은 젊은이들은 모든 것을 당연하게 드러내 보이고 수치심이 점점 없어지는 환경에서 살고 있습니다. 동물은 수치심을 모릅니다. 그러나 인간에게 수치심은 본질적인 특성 가운데 하나로, 이를 모른다면 인간답지 못한 것입니다. 수치심은 열등감을 숨기려는 마음이 아니라 귀중한 것을 보호하려는 마음입니다. 다시 말해 자신이 지닌 사랑의 능력으로 개인의 존엄성을 지키려는 마음입니다. 수치심은 상이한 방식으로 표현된다 하더라도 모든 문화에서 발견됩니다. 수치심은 성을 경시하는 태도나 경직된 교육과 관련된 것이 아니며, 인간은 자신의 죄 또는 공개되면 자신의 체면이 깎일 일들에 대해 수치심을 느낍니다. 말이나 시선, 몸짓, 행동을 통해 다른 사람에게 수치심을 주는 이는 다른 사람의 존엄성을 앗아 가는 것입니다. 464 What good is shame? Shame safeguards a person’s intimate space: his mystery, his most personal and inmost being, his dignity, but especially his capacity for love and sexual self-giving. It relates also to that which only love may see. 2521-2525, 2533 Many young Christians live in an environment where it is taken for granted that everything should be on display and people are systematically trained to ignore feelings of shame. But shamelessness is inhuman. Animals experience no shame. In a human being, in contrast, it is an essential feature. It does not hide something inferior but rather protects something valuable, namely, the dignity of the person in his capacity to love. The feeling of shame is found in all cultures, although it assumes different forms. It has nothing to do with prudery or a repressive upbringing. A person is also ashamed of his sins and other things that would demean him if they were made generally known. Someone who offends another person’s natural feeling of shame by words, glances, gestures, or actions robs him of his dignity. 제10계명 남의 재물을 탐내지 마라 465 그리스도인은 다른 이의 재산에 대해 어떤 태도를 취해야 하나요? 그리스도인은 비이성적이고 부당한 욕구와 합당한 욕구를 구분하는 법을 배우고, 남의 재산을 존중하는 태도를 취해야 합니다. 2534-2537, 2552 병적인 소유욕과 도둑질, 강도, 사기, 폭력과 부정, 시기, 타인의 재산을 탈취하려는 무절제한 욕망은 모두 탐욕으로부터 나옵니다. THE TENTH COMMANDMENT: You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods. 465 What attitude should a Christian take toward other people’s property? A Christian must learn to distinguish reasonable desires from those that are unreasonable and unjust and to acquire an interior attitude of respect for other people’s property. 2534-2537, 2552 Covetousness leads to greed, avarice, theft, robbery and fraud, violence and injustice, envy and immoderate desires to own what belongs to others. 466 시기심이란 무엇이며, 자신의 내면에서 시기심과 어떻게 싸워야 하나요? 시기심이란 남이 잘되는 것을 샘내고 기분 나빠하며, 남의 소유물을 부당하게 탈취하려는 마음입니다. 남이 잘못되기를 바라는 것은 중대한 죄입니다. 다른 이들의 성과와 재능을 더 많이 기뻐해 주려고 노력하며, 자신이 잘되기를 바라는 하느님의 섭리를 믿고, 자신의 마음을 참된 부(富)에 둘 때 시기심은 줄어들게 됩니다. 참된 부는, 우리가 성령을 통해 지금 하느님과 관계를 맺고 있다는 사실에 있습니다. 2538-2540, 2553-2554 466 What is envy, and how can you fight against it? Envy is sadness and annoyance at the sight of another’s well-being and the desire to acquire unjustly what others have. Anyone who wishes other people ill commits a serious sin. Envy decreases when we try to rejoice more and more in the accomplishments and gifts of others, when we believe in God’s benevolent providence for ourselves as well, and when we set our hearts on true wealth, which consists of the fact that we already participate in God’s life through the Holy Spirit. 2538-2540, 2553-2554 |
