| 508 기도할 때 아무것도 느끼지 못하거나, 심지어 기도에 대한 반감이 드는 이유는 무엇인가요?
기도할 때 드는 분심이나 내적인 공허감, 무미건조함, 심지어 기도에 대한 반감은 기도하는 사람이면 누구나 겪게 되는 감정입니다. 이런 감정들을 성실하게 견뎌 내는 것 자체가 이미 기도입니다. 2729-2733 아기 예수의 데레사 성녀도 오랫동안 하느님의 사랑을 느끼지 못했던 적이 있습니다. 성녀가 죽기 얼마 전, 어느 날 밤에 셀린느 언니가 그녀를 방문했습니다. 셀린느는 데레사가 자기 손을 묶어 놓은 것을 보고 말했습니다. “뭐하고 있어? 잠을 자야지.” 그러자 성녀가 대답했습니다. “너무 고통스러워서 잘 수가 없어요. 그래서 기도하고 있지요.” “예수님께 뭐라고 말씀드렸는데?” 언니의 물음에 성녀가 말했습니다. “전 그분께 드릴 말씀이 없어요. 그저 그분을 사랑할 뿐이지요.” 508 What happens if you do not feel anything when you pray or even experience reluctance to pray? Distractions during prayer, the feeling of interior emptiness and dryness, indeed, even an aversion to prayer are experienced by everyone who prays. Then to persevere faithfully is itself already a prayer. 2729-2733 Even St. Th?r?se of Lisieux for a long time could not sense God’s love at all. Shortly before her death she was visited one night by her sister Celine. She noticed that Th?r?se’s hands were clasped together. “What are you doing? You should try to sleep”, Celine said. “I cannot. I am suffering too much. But I am praying”, Th?r?se replied. “And what do you say to Jesus?” “I do not say anything to him. I love him.” 509 기도는 현실 도피가 아닐까요? 기도하는 사람은 현실을 도피하는 것이 아닙니다. 오히려 그는 현실 전체를 보는 눈을 갖게 됩니다. 그는 현실을 견뎌 낼 힘을 하느님에게 직접 받습니다. 기도는 아주 먼 여정과 어려운 도전에 맞서기 위한 에너지를 무료로 얻을 수 있는 주유소와 같습니다. 기도는 우리를 현실에서 벗어나게 하지 않고, 오히려 현실에 더 깊이 관여하게 합니다. 기도는 시간을 뺏는 것이 아니라 오히려 남아 있는 시간을 배가하며 본질적인 의미로 그 시간을 채우게 합니다. 509 Isn’t praying a flight from reality? Someone who prays does not flee from reality rather, he opens his eyes for reality as a whole. From Almighty God himself he receives the strength to cope with reality. Prayer is like going to a gas station where we get free fuel for our long journeys and extreme challenges. Praying does not lead out of reality but, rather, deeper into it. Praying does not take time away from other things but, rather, doubles the remaining time and fills it with intrinsic meaning. 510 기도는 언제라도 할 수 있나요? 기도는 언제나 바칠 수 있습니다. 기도는 삶에 꼭 필요한 요소며, 기도와 삶은 서로 분리될 수 없습니다. 2742-2745, 2757 우리는 아침저녁으로 하느님에게 몇 마디 말씀을 드리는 것으로 그분을 만족시킬 수는 없습니다. 우리 삶은 기도가 되어야 하고, 우리 기도는 삶이 되어야 합니다. 모든 그리스도인의 삶의 역사는 기도의 역사요, 하느님과 더 깊이 하나가 되려는 유일하고 오랜 기간에 걸친 시도입니다. 많은 그리스도인들은 항상 하느님에게 마음을 두려는 열망을 갖고 있기 때문에, 예로부터 특히 동방 교회에서 널리 사용되어 온 ‘예수 기도’를 바치고 있습니다. 그들은 하루 일과 중에 “예수 그리스도님, 저희에게 자비를 베푸소서!”라는 단순한 기도를 자주 바침으로써, 그 기도가 지속적인 기도가 되게 합니다. 510 Is it possible to pray always? Prayer is always possible. Prayer is vitally necessary. Prayer and life cannot be separated. 2742-2745, 2757 You cannot keep God content with a few words in the morning or evening. Our life must become prayer, and our prayers must become life. Every Christian life story is also a story of prayer, one long attempt to achieve ever greater with God. Because many Christians experience a heartfelt longing to be with God constantly, they turn to the so-called “Jesus prayer”, which has been an age-old custom particularly in the Eastern Churches. The person who prays it tries to integrate a simple formula?the most well-known formula is “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner”?into his daily routine in such a way that it becomes a constant prayer. 제2부 주님의 기도: 하늘에 계신 우리 아버지 511 ‘주님의 기도’는 어떤 내용을 담고 있나요? 하늘에 계신 우리 아버지, 아버지의 이름이 거룩히 빛나시며, 아버지의 나라가 오시며, 아버지의 뜻이 하늘에서와 같이 땅에서도 이루어지소서! 오늘 저희에게 일용할 양식을 주시고 저희에게 잘못한 이를 저희가 용서하오니 저희 죄를 용서하시고 저희를 유혹에 빠지지 않게 하시고 악에서 구하소서. (주님께 나라와 권능과 영광이 영원히 있나이다.) 아멘. ‘주님의 기도’는 예수님이 몸소 당신 제자들에게 가르쳐 주신 유일한 기도(마태 6,9-13 루카 11,2-4 참조)입니다. 그런 까닭에 이 기도를 ‘주님의 기도’라고 부릅니다. 모든 그리스도교 신자들은 날마다 미사 때나 개인적으로 이 기도를 바칩니다. “주님께 나라와 권능과 영광이 ……”라는 추가적인 기도문은 이미 150년 경에 제작된 것으로 보이는 <열두 사도의 가르침(디다케)>에 언급되었으며, ‘주님의 기도’에 덧붙여 바칠 수 있습니다. SECTION TWO The Lord’s Prayer: The Our Father 511 What are the words of the Our Father? Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. In Latin: Pater noster, qui es in caelis sanctificetur nomen tuum adveniat regnum tuum, fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra. Quia tuum est regnum, et potestas, et gloria in saecula. Amen. The Our Father is the only prayer that Jesus himself taught his disciples (Mt 6:9-13 Lk 11:2-4). That is why the Our Father is also called “the Lord’s Prayer”. Christians of all Christian denominations pray it daily, both in the liturgy and privately. The conclusion, “For thine is the kingdom . . .” is mentioned as early as the “Teaching of the Twelve Apostles” (Didache, ca. A.D. 150), and so it can be added to the Our Father. |
