| 122 하느님이 교회를 원하시는 이유는 무엇인가요?
하느님은 우리를 개별적으로가 아니라 한꺼번에 구원하길 바라시기 때문에 교회를 원하십니다. 하느님은 인류 전체를 당신 백성으로 삼고자 하십니다. 758-781, 802-804 하늘나라로 가는 여정은 반사회적인 것이 아닙니다. 오로지 자기 자신만 생각하고 자기 영혼의 구원에만 관심을 갖는 사람이야말로 반사회적인 삶을 사는 것입니다. 그런 삶은 현세에서뿐만 아니라 하늘나라에서도 살 수 없습니다. 하느님은 자신이 반사회적이지 않으시기 때문입니다. 하느님은 홀로 존재하시며 스스로 충족하시지 않습니다. 삼위일체의 하느님은 자신 안에서 이미 ‘사회적’이시며, 교감하는 가운데 영원히 사랑을 주고받습니다. 인간도 하느님의 모범을 따라 관계와 교환, 참여와 사랑을 지향하도록 창조되었습니다. 우리는 서로에 대해 책임이 있습니다. 122 Why does God want there to be a Church? God wills the →CHURCH because he wants to redeem us, not individually, but together. He wants to make all mankind his people. 758-781, 802-804 No one gets to heaven by the asocial route. Someone who thinks only about himself and the salvation of his own soul is living a-socially. That is impossible both in heaven and on earth. God himself is not a-social he is not a solitary, self-sufficient being. The Triune God in himself is “social”, a communion, an eternal exchange of love. Patterned after God, man also is designed for relationship, exchange, sharing, and love. We are responsible for one another. 123 교회가 지닌 사명은 무엇인가요? 교회의 사명은, 예수님을 통해 이미 시작된 하느님 나라가 모든 민족에게서 싹트고 자라게 하는 것입니다. 763-769, 774-776, 780 예수님이 가신 곳마다 하늘과 땅이 서로 만났습니다. 다시 말해 그곳에서는 하느님 나라, 곧 평화와 정의의 나라가 시작되었습니다. 교회는 이 하느님 나라를 위한 것이며, 교회 자체가 목적일 수는 없습니다. 교회는 예수님이 시작하신 일을 계속 수행해야 하며, 예수님이 행동하신 대로 행동해야 합니다. 교회는 예수님의 거룩한 표징(성사)들을 계승하고, 예수님의 말씀을 계속 전하고 있습니다. 따라서 교회는 자신의 모든 약점에도 불구하고 현세에 존재하는, 하늘나라의 굉장한 일부라고 할 수 있습니다. 123 What is the task of the Church? The →CHURCH’s task is to make the kingdom of God, which has already begun with Jesus, germinate and grow in all nations. 763-769, 774-776, 780 Wherever Jesus went, heaven touched earth: the kingdom of God was inaugurated, a kingdom of peace and justice. The →CHURCH serves this kingdom of God. She is not an end in herself. She must carry on what Jesus started. She should act as Jesus would act. She continues the sacred signs of Jesus (the →SACRAMENTS). She hands on Jesus’ words. That is why the Church, for all her weakness, is a formidable bit of heaven on earth. |
