입문 성사 세례성사 194 세례성사란 무엇인가요? 세례는 죽음의 세계에서 생명으로 넘어가는 길이자 교회로 들어가는 관문이며, 하느님과 함께하는 영원한 공동체의 시작입니다. 1213-1216, 1276-1278 세례는 기본적인 성사로, 다른 모든 성사를 받기 위한 조건이 됩니다. 세례를 통해 우리는 예수 그리스도와 하나가 되고, 십자가에서 돌아가신 그분의 죽음에 동참합니다. 또한 우리는 성사를 통해 원죄와 개인적인 모든 죄의 속박에서 해방되고, 그분과 함께 영원한 생명을 누릴 수 있도록 새로 태어납니다. 세례는 하느님과 맺는 계약이므로 우리는 “네”라고 응답해야 합니다. 유아 세례에서는 부모가 자녀를 대신하여 신앙을 고백합니다. CHAPTER ONE The Sacraments of Initiation The Sacrament of Baptism 194 What is Baptism? Baptism is the way out of the kingdom of death into life, the gateway to the →CHURCH, and the beginning of a lasting commwith God. 1213-1216, 1276-1278 Baptism is the foundational →SACRAMENT and the prerequisite for all other sacraments. It unites us with Jesus Christ, incorporates us into his redemptive death on the Cross, thereby freeing us from the power of Original Sin and all personal sins, and causes us to rise with him to a life without end. Since Baptism is a covenant with God, the individual must say Yes to it. In the baptism of children, the parents confess the Faith on behalf of the children. 195 세례성사는 어떻게 베푸나요? 세례를 베푸는 전통 방식은 세례받는 사람을 물속에 세 번 잠기게 하는 것입니다. 그러나 오늘날에는 대부분 세례를 베푸는 사람이 먼저 세례받는 사람의 세례명을 부릅니다. 그리고 “나는 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 당신에게 세례를 줍니다.”라고 말하며 세례받는 사람의 이마에 물을 세 번 붓습니다. 1229-1245, 1278 물은 요한 세례자가 베풀었던 회개의 세례에서 표현된 것처럼 정화와 새로운 생명을 상징합니다. ‘성부와 성자와 성령의 이름’으로, 물로써 베푸는 세례는 회개와 참회의 징표를 뛰어넘어, 그리스도 안에 있는 새로운 생명을 뜻하게 됩니다. 그런 까닭에 도유(기름 부음)와 흰옷, 세례초라는 표징을 더합니다. 195 How is Baptism administered? The classical form of administering Baptism is the threefold immersion of the candidate in the water. Usually, however, water is poured three times over the head of the candidate, while the minister of the sacrament speaks the words, “N., I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” 1229-1245, 1278 Water symbolizes cleansing and new life, which was already expressed in the baptism of repentance performed by John the Baptist. The Baptism that is administered with water “in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” is more than a sign of conversion and repentance it is new life in Christ. That is why the ceremony also includes the signs of anointing, the white garment, and the baptismal candle. |
