| 229 우리를 참회로 이끄는 것은 무엇인가요?
우리가 자신의 잘못을 성찰하다 보면 자신을 개선하고자 하는 열망이 생기는데, 이를 참회라 부릅니다. 우리의 죄가 하느님의 사랑에 어긋난다는 것을 느낄 때 우리는 참회에 이르게 됩니다. 그럴 때 우리는 지은 죄에 대해 진심으로 아파하고 자신의 삶을 바꿀 결심을 하며, 하느님이 도와주시기를 간절하게 희망합니다. 1430-1433, 1490 죄는 종종 축소됩니다. 심지어 죄책감에 대해 그저 심리적으로만 대처해야 한다고 생각하는 사람들도 있습니다. 그러나 진심 어린 죄책감은 소중합니다. 그것은 자동차 운전에 비유할 수 있습니다. 속도계가 제한 속도 위반을 가리킬 때 잘못은 속도계가 아니라 운전자에게 있습니다. 우리가 빛 자체이신 하느님에게 다가갈수록 우리의 약점과 단점은 점점 더 뚜렷하게 드러납니다. 그러나 하느님은 태워 없애는 빛이 아니라 치유하는 빛이십니다. 따라서 참회는 우리로 하여금 하느님의 완전히 치유해 주시는 빛을 향해 나아가게 합니다. 229 What prepares a person for repentance? The insight into one’s personal guilt produces a longing to better oneself this is called contrition. We arrive at contrition when we see the contradiction between God’s love and our sin. Then we are full of sorrow for our sins we resolve to change our life and place all our hope in God’s help. 1430-1433, 1490 The reality of sin is often repressed. Some people even think that guilt feelings should be dealt with in a merely psychological way. But genuine guilt feelings are important. It is like driving an automobile: When the speedometer indicates that the speed limit has been exceeded, the speedometer is not responsible, but the driver is. The closer we come to God, who is all light, the clearer our dark sides come to light also. Yet God is not a light that burns but, rather, a light that heals. That is why repentance impels us to go into the Light in which we will be completely healed. 230 보속이란 무엇인가요? 보속은 저지른 잘못에 대해 보상하는 일입니다. 보속은 그저 머릿속으로만 이루어져서는 안 되며, 사랑의 행위와 다른 이들을 위한 봉사를 통해 드러나야 합니다. 우리는 기도하고 단식하며 가난한 이들을 영적·물적으로 도움으로써 보속을 행합니다. 1434-1439 보속은 스스로 폄하하거나 극도로 양심의 가책을 느끼는 일로 이해되기도 하는데, 이는 잘못된 생각입니다. 보속은 자신이 얼마나 나쁜 사람인지 숙고하는 일도 아닙니다. 보속은 우리를 해방하며 우리가 새롭게 시작할 수 있도록 용기를 북돋워 줍니다. 230 What is penance? Penance is making restitution or satisfaction for a wrong that has been committed. Penance must not take place exclusively in my head I must express it in acts of charity and in solidarity with others. One does penance also by praying, fasting, and supporting the poor spiritually and materially. 1434-1439 Penance is often misunderstood. It has nothing to do with low self-esteem or scrupulosity. Penance is not brooding over what a bad person I am. Penance frees and encourages us to make a new start. 231 고해성사로 죄를 용서받으려면 필요한 두 전제 조건은 무엇인가요? 먼저 회개하는 사람이 있어야 하고, 하느님의 이름으로 그에게 사죄(赦罪)를 베푸는 사제가 있어야 합니다. 231 What are the two basic elements required for the forgiveness of a Christian’s sins to occur in the sacrament of Penance? What is required for the forgiveness of sins is the person who undergoes conversion and the →PRIEST who in God’s name gives him absolution from his sins. 232 고해성사 때 고해자가 해야 할 일에는 어떤 것이 있나요? 모든 고해성사에는 양심 성찰과 통회, 같은 죄를 다시 짓지 않겠다는 결심, 죄의 고백, 보속이 수반되어야 합니다. 1450-1460 1490-1492 1494 양심 성찰은 철저하게 해야 하며, 그렇게 하더라도 성찰할 것이 고갈되는 법은 없습니다. 또한 진정한 뉘우침 없이 말로만 고백한다면 자기 죄를 용서받을 수 없습니다. 이와 마찬가지로 같은 죄를 더는 반복하지 않겠다는 결심도 꼭 필요합니다. 고해자는 고해 사제에게 자기 죄를 반드시 고백해야 합니다. 끝으로, 죄로 인한 피해를 보상하기 위해 고해 사제가 고해자에게 주는 보속도 고해성사의 중요한 요소입니다. 232 What must I bring to a confession? Essential elements of every confession are an examination of conscience, contrition, a purpose of amendment, confession, and penance. 1450-1460 1490-1492 1494 The examination of conscience should be done thoroughly, but it can never be exhaustive. No one can be absolved from his sin without real contrition, merely on the basis of “lip-service”. Equally indispensable is the purpose of amendment, the resolution not to commit that sin again in the future. The sinner absolutely must the sin to the confessor and, thus, confess to it. The final essential element of confession is the atonement or penance that the confessor imposes on the sinner to make restitution for the harm done. |
