| 293 하느님이 우리에게 열정을 주신 이유는 무엇인가요?
우리는 옳은 일에 대해 강렬하고 명확한 감정을 지님으로써 악에서 벗어나 선으로 나아가기 위한 열정을 품습니다. 1762-1766, 1771-1772 하느님은 인간이 사랑하고 미워하며 무엇인가를 열망하거나 경멸할 수 있게 지으셨습니다. 또한 그분은 인간이 무엇인가에 마음을 빼앗기고 다른 이들을 두려워하며, 기쁨이나 슬픔, 분노에 차게 만드셨습니다. 인간은 마음속 깊은 곳에서 항상 선을 사랑하고 악을 미워합니다. 293 Why did God give us “passions” or emotions? In the depths of his heart man always loves good and hates evil?or what he considers to be such. 294 자기 안에서 강한 열정을 느끼면 죄가 되나요? 그렇지 않습니다. 열정은 매우 소중한 것입니다. 그러나 본래 선을 강화하기 위해 고안된 열정이 그릇된 방향으로 향할 때 악의 조력자가 됩니다. 1767-1770, 1773-1775 열정이 선을 지향하면 덕행이 됩니다. 그런 경우 열정은 사랑과 의로움을 추구하는, 투지가 가득한 삶의 원동력이라 할 수 있습니다. 그와는 달리 인간을 지배하며 그의 자유를 빼앗고 악으로 이끄는 열정을 우리는 악습이라 부릅니다. 294 Is someone a sinner if he experiences strong passions within himself? No, passions can be very valuable. Passions that overpower a person, rob him of his freedom and entice him to evil, we call vice. 295 양심이란 무엇인가요? 양심은 인간 내면에 있는 내적 소리로, 무조건 선을 행하고 악을 피하도록 인간을 설득합니다. 그와 더불어 양심은 한 가지 일을 다른 일과 구별할 수 있는 능력이기도 합니다. 하느님은 양심을 통해 인간에게 말씀하십니다. 양심은 하느님이 인간 안에서 몸소 자신을 드러내시는 내적 소리입니다. 하느님은 양심을 통해 당신을 분명하게 느낄 수 있게 하십니다. “그건 양심에 어긋나는 일이야.”라는 말은 그리스도인에게 “그건 나의 창조주 하느님 눈앞에서 할 수 없는 일이야.”라는 말이 됩니다. 양심을 따르느라 이미 많은 사람들이 감옥에 가기도 하고 처형당했습니다. 295 What is conscience? Conscience is the inner voice in a man that moves him to do good under any circumstances and to avoid evil by all means. At the same time it is the ability to distinguish the one from the other. In the conscience God speaks to man. 1776-1779 Conscience is compared with an inner voice in which God manifests himself in a man. God is the one who becomes apparent in the conscience. When we say, “I cannot reconcile that with my conscience”, this means for a Christian, “I cannot do that in the sight of my Creator!” Many people have gone to jail or been executed because they were true to their conscience. |
