| 330 모든 인간은 하느님 앞에서 얼마나 평등하나요?
모든 인간은 같은 창조주를 모시고 있으며, 하느님의 모상에 따라 이성을 지닌 영혼으로 창조되었고, 같은 구세주를 모시고 있습니다. 따라서 모든 인간은 하느님 앞에 평등합니다. 1934-1935, 1945 하느님 앞에 모든 인간은 평등하기에, 인간은 누구나 같은 존엄성을 지니며 인간으로서 동등한 권리를 요구할 수 있습니다. 따라서 인간을 사회적·인종적·성적·문화적·종교적으로 폄하하는 것은 받아들일 수 없는 부당한 일입니다. 330 To what extent are all men equal in God’s sight? All men are equal in God’s sight insofar as all have the same Creator, all were created in the same image of God with a rational soul, and all have the same Redeemer. 1934-1935, 1945 Because all men are equal in God’s sight, every person possesses the same dignity and has a claim to the same human rights. Hence every kind of social, racist, sexist, cultural, or religious discrimination against a person is an unacceptable injustice. 331 그럼에도 사람들 사이에 불평등이 존재하는 이유는 무엇인가요? 모든 인간은 같은 존엄성을 지녔지만, 그렇다고 모두 동일한 삶의 조건을 가진 것은 아닙니다. 사람들 사이에 불평등이 존재할 때 인간의 존엄성은 복음과 모순된 상태에 있게 됩니다. 하느님은 우리에게 서로 다른 천성과 재능을 주심으로써 우리가 서로 의지해야 한다는 것을 알려 주셨습니다. 다시 말해 우리는 사랑으로 서로 부족한 부분을 채워 줘야 합니다. 1936-1938, 1946-1947 사람들 사이에는 하느님으로부터 유래한 것이 아니라 사회적 관계들에 기인하는 불평등이 있습니다. 특히 전 세계적으로 원자재와 재산, 자본의 불공정한 분배로 야기된 불평등이 존재합니다. 하느님은 복음에 반대되고 인간의 존엄성을 무시하는 모든 것을 세상에서 몰아내야 할 책임을 우리에게 주셨습니다. 그러나 하느님의 뜻에 따라 생겨난 불평등도 존재합니다. 곧, 재능과 출생 조건, 재력 면에서 그렇습니다. 그러한 불평등 속에는 다른 뜻이 숨어 있습니다. 따라서 인간으로 산다는 것은 다른 이들을 사랑하기 위해 존재하고, 가진 것을 나누며, 다른 이들의 삶을 고취해야 한다는 것입니다. 331 Why is there nevertheless injustice among men? All men have the same dignity, but not all of them meet with the same living conditions. In cases where injustice is man-made, it contradicts the Gospel. In cases where men have been endowed by God with different gifts and talents, God is asking us to rely on one another: in charity one should make up for what the other lacks. 1936-1938, 1946-1947 There is a kind of inequality among men that does not come from God but rather originates in societal conditions, especially in the unjust distribution of raw materials, land, and capital worldwide. God expects us to remove from the world everything that is plainly contrary to the Gospel and disregards human dignity. Yet there is another sort of inequality among men that is quite in keeping with God’s will: inequality in talents, initial conditions, and opportunities. These are an indication that being human means being there for others in charity so as to share and to promote life. 332 다른 이들에 대한 그리스도인들의 연대성은 어디에서 드러나나요? 그리스도인들은 의로운 사회 구조를 만들기 위해 노력합니다. 이러한 노력에는 이 세상의 물질적·정신적 재화에 누구나 접근할 수 있는 기회를 갖게 하는 것도 포함됩니다. 또한 그리스도인들은 정당한 임금을 비롯하여 인간의 노동 가치가 확실하게 존중되도록 해야 합니다. 신앙을 전하는 일도 모든 이와의 연대성을 드러내는 행위라 할 수 있습니다. 1939-1942, 1948 연대성은 그리스도인임을 실제로 드러내는 표징입니다. 연대성을 갖는 것은 그저 이성의 명령에 따르는 행위가 아닙니다. 우리 주님이신 예수 그리스도가 자신을 가난하고 보잘것없는 이들과 완전히 동일시하셨기 때문입니다(마태 25,40 참조). 따라서 그들에 대한 연대성을 거부하는 것은 그리스도를 거부하는 것입니다. 332 How is the solidarity of Christians with other people expressed? Christians are committed to just societal structures. Part of this is universal access to the material, intellectual, and spiritual goods of this world. Christians also make sure that the dignity of human work is respected, which includes a just wage. Handing on the faith is also an act of solidarity with all mankind. 1939-1942, 1948 Solidarity is the practical hallmark of a Christian. Practicing solidarity is not just a command of reason. Jesus Christ, our Lord, identified completely with the poor and the lowly (Mt 25:40). To refuse solidarity with them would be to reject Christ. 333 모든 인간에게 천부적인 도덕률이 존재하나요? 인간이 선을 행하고 악을 피해야 한다고 할 때, 무엇이 선하고 악한지를 알 수 있는 확신이 인간의 마음에 새겨져 있는 것이 분명합니다. 이처럼 사람이면 누구나 자신의 지성을 통해 기본적으로 알 수 있는 것, 곧 어떤 의미로 인간의 ‘천부적인’ 도덕률이 실제로 존재합니다. 1949-1960, 1975, 1978-1979 천부적인 도덕률은 모든 이에게 유효합니다. 이 도덕률은 인간이 어떤 기본적인 권리와 의무를 지니고 있는지를 이야기하며, 가정과 사회, 국가에서의 공동생활을 위한 진정한 근거를 제시합니다. 그러나 이 타고난 인식은 죄와 인간의 약점들로 종종 흐려지기 때문에, 인간은 올바른 길을 계속 가기 위한 하느님의 도우심과 계시가 필요합니다. 333 Is there a natural law that everyone can know? If people are to do good and avoid evil, certainty about what is good or evil must be inscribed within them. In fact there is such a moral law that is, so to speak, “natural” to men and can be known in principle by every person by reason. 1949-1960, 1975, 1978-1979 The natural moral law is valid for everyone. It tells men what fundamental rights and duties they have and thus forms the real foundation for life together in the family, in society, and in the State. Because our natural knowledge is often troubled by sin and human weakness, a person needs God’s help and his →REVELATION in order to stay on the right path. |
