| 398 그리스도인은 평화주의자여야 하나요?
교회는 평화를 위해 전력을 다하지만, 극단적인 평화주의를 설파하지는 않습니다. 개인뿐만 아니라 국가의 군대와 공동체로부터 정당방위나 무기를 이용한 기본적인 방어 권리를 빼앗을 수 없기 때문입니다. 도덕적인 측면에서 전쟁은 오직 최후의 수단으로만 용인될 수 있습니다. 2308 교회는 매우 분명하게 전쟁에 반대합니다. 전쟁을 피하려면 그리스도인들은 사전에 모든 노력을 기울여야 합니다. 다시 말해 그리스도인들은 무기 축적이나 무기 거래에 반대하고, 인종적·민족적·종교적 차별에 맞서 싸우며, 경제적·사회적 불의를 종식하는 데 기여함으로써 평화를 공고히 해야 합니다. 398 Must Christians be pacifists? The Church strives for peace but does not preach radical pacifism. Indeed, no one can deny either the individual citizen or particular governments and alliances the fundamental right of armed self-defense. War is morally justifiable only as a last resort. 2308 The Church unmistakably says No to war. THE SIXTH COMMANDMENT: You shall not commit adultery. 400 What does it mean to say that man is a sexual being? God created man as male and female. He created them for each other and for love. He created them with erotic desires and the ability to experience physical pleasure. He created them to transmit life. 2331-2333, 2335, 2392 Being a man or being a woman is very deeply imprinted on the individual human person it is a different way of feeling, a different way of loving, a different calling with respect to children, another way of believing. Because he intended that they should be there for each other and complement one another in love, God made man and woman different. That is why man and woman attract each other sexually and intellectually. When a husband and wife express their love for each other in bodily union, their love finds its deepest sensual expression. Just as God is creative in his love, so too man can be creative in love and give life to children. 401 성적 우위가 실제로 존재하나요? 그렇지 않습니다. 하느님은 남자와 여자에게 인간의 존엄성을 똑같이 선물하셨습니다. 2331, 2335 남자와 여자는 하느님을 본떠 창조되었으며 예수 그리스도를 통해 구원된 하느님의 자녀입니다. 남자 또는 여자라는 이유로 누군가를 차별 대우하거나 냉대하는 일은 비인간적일 뿐만 아니라 비그리스도교적입니다. 그러나 동등한 존엄성과 동등한 권리가 획일성을 뜻하는 것은 아닙니다. 남자와 여자 각자가 지닌 특성을 무시하면서 일괄적으로 평등주의를 적용하는 것은 하느님의 창조 계획에 어긋나는 일입니다. 401 Is there a priority of one sex over the other? No. God endowed men and women with identical dignity as persons. 2331, 2335 Both men and women are human beings created in God’s image and children of God redeemed by Jesus Christ. It is just as unchristian as it is inhumane to discriminate unjustly against someone because he is male or female. Equal dignity and equal rights, nevertheless, do not mean uniformity. The sort of egalitarianism that ignores the specific character of a man or a woman contradicts God’s plan of creation. |
