| 475 예수님은 어떻게 기도하셨나요?
예수님의 삶 자체가 탁월한 기도였습니다. 그분은 사막에서 유혹을 받았을 때나 제자들을 뽑으셨을 때, 십자가 위에서 죽음을 맞이하셨을 때와 같은 결정적인 순간에 더욱 간절히 기도하셨습니다. 그분은 종종 기도하기 위해 한적한 곳을 찾으셨고, 특히 밤에 기도하셨습니다. 예수님은 당신의 지상에서의 삶을 이끌어 주는 원리였던 성령 안에서 성부와 하나가 되셨습니다. 2600-2605 475 How did Jesus pray? Jesus’ life was one single prayer. At decisive moments (his temptation in the desert, his selection of the apostles, his death on the Cross) his prayer was especially intense. Often he withdrew into solitude to pray, especially at night. Being one with the Father in the Holy Spirit?that was the guiding principle of his earthly life. 2600-2605 476 죽음을 앞두고 예수님은 어떤 기도를 바치셨나요? 죽음을 앞두고 예수님은 인간으로서 가장 깊은 두려움을 느끼셨습니다. 하지만 그분은 그 순간에도 하늘에 계신 아버지를 신뢰하셨습니다. “아빠! 아버지! 아버지께서는 무엇이든 하실 수 있으시니, 이 잔을 저에게서 거두어 주십시오. 그러나 제가 원하는 것을 하지 마시고 아버지께서 원하시는 것을 하십시오.”(마르 14,36) 2605-2606, 2620 ‘곤경이 우리를 기도하게 한다’는 것을 대부분의 사람들이 자기 삶에서 체험합니다. 예수님은 죽음의 위협에서 어떤 기도를 바치셨나요? 죽음의 순간에 그분을 이끌었던 것은 당신 아버지의 사랑과 보살핌에 자신을 전적으로 내맡기는 신뢰였습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 예수님은 유다인의 임종 기도에서 유래한, 가장 수수께끼 같은 기도를 바치셨습니다. “저의 하느님, 저의 하느님, 어찌하여 저를 버리셨습니까?”(마르 15,34 시편 22,2) 모든 시대의 인간이 갖고 있는 온갖 절망과 비탄, 울부짖음 그리고 하느님이 도와주시길 바라는 갈망이, 십자가에 못 박히신 분의 이 말씀에 집약되어 있습니다. 예수님은 “아버지, 제 영을 아버지 손에 맡깁니다.”(루카 23,46)라는 말씀과 함께 숨을 거두셨습니다. 이 말씀에서 성부에 대한 무한한 신뢰가, 다시 말해 성부의 권능을 통해 죽음을 극복할 수 있다는 것을 알고 있다는 믿음이 드러납니다. 이와 같이 죽음의 순간에 바친 예수님의 기도는 그분의 부활을 통한 승리를 이미 예견하고 있습니다. 476 How did Jesus pray as he was facing his death? When face to face with death, Jesus experienced the utmost depths of human fear. Yet he found the strength even in that hour to trust his heavenly Father: “Abba, Father, all things are possible to you remove this chalice from me yet not what I will, but what you will be done” (Mk 14:36). 2605-2606, 2620 “Times of need teach us to pray.” Almost everyone experiences that in his life. How did Jesus pray when he was threatened by death? What guided him in those hours was his absolute willingness to entrust himself to the love and care of his Father. Yet Jesus recited the most unfathomable prayer of all, which he took from the Jewish prayers for the dying: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Mk 15:34, citing Ps 22:1). All the despair, all the laments, all the cries of mankind in all times, and yearning for God’s helping hand are contained in this word of the Crucified. With the words, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit” (Lk 23:46), he breathed forth his spirit. In them we hear his boundless trust in his Father, whose power knows the way to conquer death. Thus Jesus’ prayer in the midst of dying already anticipates the Easter victory of his Resurrection. 477 예수님에게 기도하는 법을 배운다는 것은 무엇을 의미하나요? 예수님에게 기도를 배운다는 것은 그분이 지니신 무한한 신뢰에 참여하고, 그분의 기도에 동참하며, 그분에 의해 한 걸음씩 하느님에게 인도되는 것을 의미합니다. 2607-2614, 2621 예수님과 공동체를 이루며 살았던 제자들은 예수님 말씀에 귀 기울이고 그분의 삶을 본받음으로써 기도하는 법을 배웠습니다. 그들은 예수님처럼 깨어 있어야 했으며 정결한 마음을 얻고자 노력했습니다. 곧 도래할 하느님 나라를 위해 모든 것을 버렸고, 원수를 용서하고 담대하게 하느님을 신뢰했으며, 다른 무엇보다도 하느님을 사랑했습니다. 그러한 헌신적인 모범을 보임으로써 예수님은 전능하신 하느님을 “아빠! 사랑하는 아버지!”라고 부르도록 당신 제자들에게 가르치셨습니다. 우리가 예수님의 영으로 기도하거나 특히 ‘주님의 기도’를 바치는 것은 예수님의 마음으로 기도하는 것과 같습니다. 그럴 때 우리는 틀림없이 성부의 마음에 이르게 된다는 것을 굳게 믿을 수 있습니다. 477 What does it mean to learn from Jesus how to pray? Learning from Jesus how to pray means entering into his boundless trust, joining in his prayer, and being led by him, step by step, to the Father. 2607-2614, 2621 The disciples, who lived in community with Jesus, learned to pray by listening to and imitating Jesus, whose whole life was prayer. Like him, they had to be watchful and strive for purity of heart, to give up everything for the coming of God’s kingdom, to forgive their enemies, to trust boldly in God, and to love him above all things. By this example of devotion, Jesus invited his disciples to say to God Almighty, “Abba, dear Father”. If we pray in the Spirit of Jesus, especially the Lord’s Prayer, we walk in Jesus’ shoes and can be sure that we will arrive unfailingly in the heart of the Father. 478 하느님이 우리의 기도를 들어주시리라 확신할 수 있는 근거는 무엇인가요? 예수님은 생전에 당신에게 치유를 간청했던 많은 이들의 기도를 들어주셨습니다. 죽음에서 부활하신 예수님은 살아 계시고, 우리의 청원에 귀 기울이시며, 우리의 청원을 하느님에게 전달하십니다. 2615-2616, 2621 오늘날 우리는 유다교 회당장이었던 야이로의 이름을 기억하고 있습니다. 그는 예수님에게 도움을 청했고 그분은 그 청을 들어주셨습니다. 그의 어린 딸은 병들어 죽었고, 더는 아무도 그를 도울 수 없었습니다. 그러나 예수님은 그의 딸을 고쳐 주셨을 뿐만 아니라, 심지어 죽은 이들 가운데서 다시 살리셨습니다(마르 5,21-43 참조). 확실하게 입증된 치유력을 보여 주신 것입니다. 그분은 표징을 드러내시고 기적을 행하셨습니다. 절름발이와 나병 환자, 눈먼 이가 예수님에게 청한 것은 헛된 일이 아니었습니다. 교회의 모든 성인도 기도가 이루어진다는 것을 증언했습니다. 많은 그리스도인은 자신들이 하느님에게 어떻게 청원했는지, 또 하느님은 자신들의 기도를 어떻게 들어주셨는지 이야기할 수 있습니다. 그렇지만 하느님은 자판기가 아닙니다. 그분이 어떤 방식으로 우리의 간청을 들어주실지는 그분에게 맡겨야 합니다. 478 Why can we be confident that our prayer is heard by God? Many people called on Jesus during his earthly life for healing, and their prayers were answered. Jesus, who rose from the dead, listens to our petitions and brings them to the Father. 2615-2616, 2621 Even today we know the name of the synagogue official: Jairus was the name of the man who begged Jesus for help, and his prayer was answered. His little daughter was deathly ill. No one could help her. Jesus not only healed his little girl, he even raised her from the dead (Mk 5:21-43). Jesus worked a whole series of well-attested cures. He performed signs and miracles. The lame, the lepers, and the blind did not ask Jesus in vain. There are testimonies also of prayers answered by all the saints of the Church. Many Christians can tell stories of how they called to God and God heard their prayer. God, however, is not an automat. We must leave it up to him how he will answer our petitions. |
