| 86 예수님이 30년 동안 대중 앞에 모습을 드러내지 않으셨던 이유는 무엇인가요?
예수님은 우리와 똑같이 평범한 삶을 사셨고, 그로써 우리의 일상을 거룩하게 만드셨습니다. 531-534, 564 예수님은 부모의 사랑을 듬뿍 받으며 성장하셨습니다. “예수님은 지혜와 키가 자랐고 하느님과 사람들의 총애도 더하여 갔다.”(루카 2,52) 그분은 유다인 지역 공동체의 일원이셨고, 종교 의식에도 참석하셨습니다. 또한 목수 일을 배우셨고, 그 일에서 능력을 입증하셔야 했습니다. 하느님은 예수님을 통해 인간 가정에 태어나심으로써 가정을 하느님의 거처이자 도움을 주는 공동체의 원형으로 만드셨습니다. 86 Why did Jesus wait thirty years to begin his public life? Jesus wanted to share a normal life with us and thus sanctify our everyday routine. 531-534, 564 Jesus was a child who received love and affection from his parents and was brought up by them. Thus he increased “in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man” (Lk 2:52) he belonged to a Jewish village community and took part in its religious rituals he learned a trade and had to prove his ability as a craftsman. The fact that God in Jesus willed to be born into a human family and to grow up in it has made the family a place where God is present and a prototype of a helping community. 87 예수님은 죄가 없으신데도 왜 요한에게 세례를 받으셨나요? 세례를 받는다는 것은 자신을 물속에 담근다는 것을 뜻합니다. 세례를 받음으로써 예수님은 인류 전체가 속해 있는 죄의 역사 속으로 들어가셨습니다. 세례를 통해 그분은 표징을 남기셨습니다. 그분은 우리들이 범한 죄에서 우리를 구원하시기 위해 언젠가 죽음 속으로 빠져들겠지만, 당신의 아버지의 권능으로 다시 부활하실 것입니다. 535-537, 565 군인, 창녀, 세리와 같은 죄인들은 “죄의 용서를 위한 회개의 세례”(루카 3,3)를 받기 위해 요한 세례자를 찾아갔습니다. 그러나 예수님은 본래 죄 없는 분이셨기 때문에 세례를 받으실 필요가 없었습니다. 그분이 세례를 받으셨다는 사실은 다음 두 가지 사항을 우리에게 알려 줍니다. 하나는 예수님이 우리의 죄를 짊어지셨다는 것이고, 다른 하나는 예수님이 당신이 받으신 세례를 장차 당신이 겪을 고통과 부활의 예고로 이해하셨다는 것입니다. 우리를 위해 돌아가실 의지를 드러내는 그분의 표징에 대해 하늘도 응답했습니다. “너는 내가 사랑하는 아들이다.”(루카 3,22) 87 Why did Jesus allow John to baptize him, although he was without sin? To baptize means to immerse. In his baptism, Jesus descended into the sinful history of all mankind. By doing so he established a sign. In order to redeem us from our sins, he would one day be submerged in death but, through his Father’s power, reawakened to life. 535-537, 565 Sinners?soldiers, prostitutes, tax collectors?went out to the prophet John the Baptist because they were looking for the “baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins” (Lk 3:3). Strictly speaking, Jesus did not need this baptism, because he was sinless. The fact that he submitted to this baptism shows us two things: Jesus takes our sins upon himself. Jesus understands his baptism as an anticipation of his Passion and Resurrection. At this sign of his willingness to die for us, the heavens open: “You are my beloved Son” (Lk 3:22b). |
