| 524 ‘저희에게 잘못한 이를 저희가 용서하오니, 저희 죄를 용서하시고’는 무엇을 뜻하나요?
우리가 다른 이들에게 주고 우리 자신도 구하는 자비로운 용서는, 서로 분리될 수 없는 것입니다. 우리 자신이 자비롭지 못하며 서로 용서하지 못할 때, 우리 마음은 하느님의 자비를 얻지 못합니다. 2838-2845, 2862 많은 사람들이 일생 동안 용서하지 못하는 마음과 싸우고 있습니다. 이 단단한 장애물은 궁극적으로 오로지 하느님을 바라봄으로써만, 다시 말해 “우리가 아직 죄인이었을 때에”(로마 5,8) 우리를 받아들이신 그분을 바라봄으로써만 없앨 수 있습니다. 우리에게는 자비로운 아버지가 계시기 때문에 용서와 화해의 삶이 가능합니다. 524 What does it mean to say, “Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us”? Merciful forgiveness?the mercy that we show to others and the mercy that we ourselves seek?is indivisible. If we ourselves are not merciful and do not forgive one another, God’s mercy will not reach our hearts. 2838-2845, 2862 Many people have a lifelong struggle with their inability to forgive. The deep blockade of being unreconciled is resolved only by looking to God, who adopted us “while we were yet sinners” (Rom 5:8). Because we have a kind Father, forgiveness and reconciliation in life are possible. 525 ‘저희를 유혹에 빠지지 않게 하시고’는 무엇을 뜻하나요? 우리는 매일, 매 순간 죄에 떨어지고 하느님을 거부할 위험이 있기 때문에, 유혹의 지배하에 우리를 무방비 상태로 두지 않으시길 하느님에게 간청합니다. 2846-2849 몸소 유혹을 받으셨던 예수님은, 우리가 자신의 힘으로는 제대로 악에 저항하지 못하는 약한 인간임을 알고 계십니다. 그리하여 그분은 시련을 겪을 때 하느님의 도우심을 신뢰하도록 가르치는 ‘주님의 기도’를 우리에게 선물하셨습니다. 525 What does it mean to say, “Lead us not into temptation”? Because every day and every hour we are in danger of falling into sin and saying No to God, we beg God not to leave us defenseless in the power of temptation. 2846-2849 Jesus, who was tempted himself, knows that we are weak human beings, who have little strength of our own with which to oppose the evil one. He graciously gives us the petition from the Our Father, which teaches us to trust in God’s assistance in the hour of trial. 526 ‘저희를 악에서 구하소서’는 무엇을 뜻하나요? ‘주님의 기도’에서 ‘악’은 어떤 부정적인 정신적 기운이나 에너지를 뜻하는 것이 아니라, 성경에 유혹자나 거짓말의 선조, 사탄 또는 악마라는 이름으로 알려진 악한 인격체를 가리킵니다. 2850-2854, 2864 끔찍한 폭력의 세계에 악이 존재하고, 마귀의 속삭임이 우리를 둘러싸고 있으며, 역사에 종종 악마가 벌인 일들이 일어나고 있음을 부인할 사람은 아무도 없습니다. 그런데 성경만이 그런 것들에 이름을 붙여 거론하고 있습니다. “우리의 전투 상대는 인간이 아니라, 권세와 권력들과 이 어두운 세계의 지배자들과 하늘에 있는 악령들입니다.”(에페 6,12) ‘주님의 기도’에서 악에서 구해 달라는 청원은 이 세상의 모든 고통을 하느님 앞에 가져오고, 그 모든 고통에서 우리를 해방해 주시기를 전능하신 하느님에게 간청하는 것입니다. 그 내용은 미사 때 ‘주님의 기도’에 이어 사제가 바치는 기도인 ‘부속 기도’에 좀 더 자세히 표현되어 있습니다. 526 What does it mean to say, “Deliver us from evil”? “Evil” in the Our Father does not mean a negative spiritual force or energy, but rather Evil in person, whom Sacred Scripture knows by the name of “the tempter”, “the father of lies”, Satan, or the devil. 2850-2854, 2864 No one can deny that evil in the world is devastating in its power, that we are surrounded by devilish suggestions, that there are often demonic processes at work in history. Only Sacred Scripture calls things by their name: “For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness” (Eph 6:12). The petition from the Our Father “deliver us from evil” brings all the misery of this world before God and begs God Almighty to free us from all evils. 527 ‘주님의 기도’를 “아멘.”으로 마무리 짓는 이유는 무엇인가요? 교회 초창기부터 그리스도교 신자들도 유다교 신자들처럼 모든 기도를 “아멘.”이란 말로 끝맺어 왔는데, 그 말은 “그대로 이루어지소서.”라는 뜻을 담고 있습니다. 2855-2856, 2865 우리가 한 말에 대해, 또한 우리의 삶과 우리의 운명과 우리가 누리게 될 기쁨에 대해 “아멘.”이라고 말할 때 하늘과 땅은 하나가 됩니다. 그때 우리는 목적지에, 다시 말해 한 처음에 우리를 지어낸 사랑에 이르게 됩니다. 527 Why do we end the Our Father with “Amen”?
